WHAT TO WEAR FOR YOUR HEADSHOTS
CHOOSING CLOTHES THAT HELP YOUR PERSONALITY SHINE THROUGH
Simple clothing tips to help you feel confident, relaxed, and camera-ready
Let’s keep this simple—I want you to feel confident, comfortable, and like your best self in front of the camera. Here are a few tips to help you choose what to wear so your photos come out clean, professional, and totally you.
Stick to Solid Colors or Soft Patterns
Jewel tones, earth tones, and classic neutrals like black, navy, gray, or white are always a win. These shades photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your face. I’d steer clear of neons or super bright colors—they can throw some weird tones on your skin.
Fitted is Your Friend
Clothing that fits well (not too loose or baggy) tends to photograph best and helps you look polished and put together. Save the cozy oversized stuff for after your shoot!
Layers Add Life
A blazer, jacket, or structured sweater can instantly elevate your look and give us a few styling options without a full outfit change. They also add nice dimension to your photos.
Keep It Simple Up Top
Avoid bold logos, busy prints, or big text. They can steal the spotlight from you. Think clean, classic, and distraction-free.
Bring Options
Even if you’ve got a favorite outfit in mind, I always recommend bringing a couple of backups. Sometimes something unexpected just works. And don’t worry—if you’re not sure, I’ll help you choose what looks best on camera.
Consider Necklines
Higher necklines like crewnecks, collared shirts, or structured blouses tend to frame your face best—especially in tight crops. Deep necklines can sometimes get lost in close-ups.
Quick Undergarment Check
Make sure what you wear underneath works with your outfit—especially if you're going with light or sheer fabrics. Nude-toned undergarments usually work best. And if you're layering or wearing a more structured top, a good bra or undershirt can help everything sit just right. Avoid anything with thick straps or lines that might peek through.
Final Thought
At the end of the day, I want you to feel good in what you’re wearing. If you feel confident, it’ll shine through in your photos—that’s what really makes the difference.
