HEADSHOT PREPARATION -FEEL CONFIDENT, LOOK AMAZING

THESE ARE THINGS YOU SHOULD DO IN THE DAYS BEFORE YOUR SESSION

Simple tips to help you feel confident, relaxed, and camera-ready

Getting great headshots isn’t just about showing up with a nice outfit and a fresh haircut (though those help!). It’s about feeling good—because when you feel relaxed and confident, it shows in your photos. These quick tips will help you prep in the days leading up to your session so you feel like the best version of yourself when it’s time to step in front of the camera.

Rest Up (Seriously, Sleep Is Magic)

If there’s one thing that makes the biggest difference in how you look and feel, it’s sleep. Try to get a solid 7–9 hours the week before your session. Tired eyes, puffiness, and that just-not-quite-there energy can sneak into photos. A good night’s sleep = a refreshed, confident you.

Tip: Skip screens before bed, dim the lights, and keep your sleep space cool and quiet. Your future self will thank you.

Hydrate Like It’s Your Job

Water is the easiest way to keep your skin glowing and your energy up. Start hydrating a few days before your session and keep a bottle nearby the day of.

Bonus: Try to ease up on caffeine and alcohol—they can dry out your skin and leave you feeling a bit blah.

Stick With What You Know (Skincare-Wise)

This is not the week to try a new face mask or product. Stick to your regular skincare routine: gentle cleansing, light exfoliating, and moisturizing. Don’t overdo it—you just want your skin feeling clean, calm, and happy.

Eat Smart, Feel Better

What you eat can have a surprising effect on how you feel in front of the camera. Keep things light and healthy in the days before the shoot—especially the day of.

Less salt, sugar, and heavy meals = less bloating and more energy. Foods like berries, greens, and nuts are great for your skin and your mood.

Keep It Chill

Even if you're a little nervous (totally normal!), staying relaxed makes a big difference. Try some deep breathing or stretching the morning of your session. Walk in with a calm mindset and we’ll handle the rest.
